SFMOMA is presenting a retrospective of Francesca Woodman’s photography. I studied at RISD where she is a legend because of her talent and her suicide at age 22 in 1981. I feel that her photographs cannot be separated from her biography and they become sadder, more beautiful, and haunting. The exhibit will travel to the Guggenheim in March 2012. If you won’t be in San Francisco or New York, consider picking up the book.
