I just got home from Carnegie Hall where I saw The Great Flood, a film-music collaboration by Bill Morrison and Bill Frisell, based on and inspired by the catastrophic Mississippi River Flood of 1927 and the ensuing transformation of American society. Whenever you learn about history, you never really see the people. This documentary which employs original and deteriorating film from 1927 was fascinating and eerie. I was mesmerized.
